Could
it be true? Have students been backed into a corner so tight that they’ve seen
prostitution as the only means to an end? According to studies done by the
National Union Of students in England, it has become a very sad reality in
Universities in England and all over the world. With the rise in tuition fees,
living expenses and government cuts in financial Aid funds more and more
students have turned to soliciting sex for money to survive. Universities in
South Africa such as University of Cape Town, Cape Peninsula University of
Technology .University of the Western Cape, Durban University of Technology,
and the University of Johannesburg have
seen a rise in numbers of students that got arrested in street corners in the
middle of the night, prostituting.
Majority of students in South Africa do not rely on the Bank of Mom and
Dad and have always had to come up with ingenious ways of making ends meet. The
prettier girls are at the forefront of High Class prostitution and would much
rather rely their looks to part gullible men form their money.
In Johannesburg, it is said that the
prostitution is also a “form of hustle”. The fast paced life of Johannesburg
has taken many young lives and many of the prostitutes that are found today on
the streets corner all seem to have one story.
